Enviroment Art

These are some of the other sketches i
did of The Quad and inside the westfield center.

These are the kind of ideas i had for the West field center
I liked the look of the over grown trees, vines and fallen rocks in this piece.

This is the screen recording of me drawing the final piece sped up.

Prop task Horse helmet

1.My original picture from Leeds royal armories, i dont know why but i
liked the horse helmets on display at the armories, this one i thought would
be more interesting as it had the engraved pattern down the middle of the nose.

2. painted a block out of the horse

3. extended the nose of the helmet

4.painted the block out for helmet

5. i added more spikes on the helmet using the one from the forehead

6. Blended all of the colours
7. the finished piece with gradient background and shadow

This is my progress work on building the helmet in Zbrush.

This was my first time using Zbrush so the task was more a chance to learn how to use

the program. The tutorial task set by Levon helped me a lot whilst getting to know the basic

functions of Zbrush so i tried to use the methods I learnt in this task. I started by making the

flat outline then raising the strip down the middle and then the same for the outline of the top half

of the helmet including some rivets.

After looking at different Armour i liked the look of hammered sheet metal which used to

be a method used a lot to make Armour. These are some examples i found:

I then started to bend the edges of the helmet back to the shape of the

horses head. When doing this i wanted it to look like it had been hammered
so i used a smaller radius with the move brush.

I then used the mark tool so engrave the design down the center of the helmet

and started adding more hammer marks.

I then added scratches, marks ,wear and dints to make it look like its

seen some action.

Overall i think it went well as a first attempt at using Zbrush, the tutorials helped
me a lot by teaching me how to use the basic tools and methods etc.
